Dear Friends,

Like pearls created round a grain of sand, organisations and initiatives form around the nucleus of a perceived need -- humanitarian agencies, peace groups, ecumenical movements, charities, foundations, initiatives to address a lack in some aspect of our living expression. All the institutions of our form living - businesses, legal systems, systems of government, of education, of health - are intended to serve a need and to organise our energies to address it. Many of these "needs" have arisen because we have not realised the importance of all aspects of life and have not yet understood their purpose or part in the unfolding expression of divine life. Throughout our history we have rushed to address now this need, now that, not realising that our very solution can sometimes create new "needs" because of the limited scope of the response. Through trial and error we see that a more comprehensive solution is called for, one which addresses deeper and deeper layers of our sense of being and identity.

This can be reflected through mass media, the internet and email as they bring many issues into the searchlight of the human mind and the increasing brightness uncovers new layers and subtleties of understanding that we could not previously penetrate. We are following the direction which divine intention creates, magnetically drawing everything into its wake. With this developing capacity we look more deeply into the causes of events and begin to see their significance in terms of the direction of their outcomes. We then find that we see things "in a new light". We discover a whole world of interconnection that brings us nearer to essential cause and essential purpose and in this process we redefine the underlying fabric of our living. A deeper layer of the nature of things is revealed and we understand more fully and view our world according to a whole new perception of its living, unfolding and expanding context. We are, together, becoming the forerunner of our future selves.

These attempts to address need may initially take the form of combating a particular threat, yet thus do we serve and enter upon the journey into that which is the common resolution of all needs - the creation of a new culture of peace, a new civilisation based on understanding rather than the imposition of temporal power, a new realisation of freedom based on shared responsibility which frees each from their lonely burden, a new response to true need rather than to the demand of passing desires.

When previously we may have seen things in terms of polarised opposites, we can now begin to see the relating dynamic in terms of common objective with differing modes of achievement. A shift takes place that opens up understanding from a point of common and agreed purpose. Essential relationship supersedes conflict as both the context and mode of achievement. Conflict is thus understood as a downward spirally dynamic that destroys the hearts and minds of all engaged in it - the analytical mind being focussed on difference rather than discerning that which unites out of the broken chaos of diverse and opposed elements. Reality begins to be seen as the synthetic order which becomes clear as we emerge from the vortex of the battle to preserve desired forms, as we move beyond the animal identification and into the truly human - the bridge, the relating factor, the "missing link" between the outer world expression and the inner life which empowers it.

Consciousness is immeasurable. There is no limiting factor other than our own focussed intention. When we realise the oneness underlying our world, we grasp the inherent value of every part within it because each is a moment in the unfolding expression of the divine life. Even the most vile and recalcitrant has impact on consciousness and empowers realisation - recognition of cause, effect and resolution. Only a maimed or limited mind will respond with retribution.

Consciousness is magnetic. Its focus radiates and draws into its compass all that relates to it. As it expands we redefine our world. Our creativity is no longer the resolution of the artist's crisis and torment into a new harmony of beauty but is the radiatory impact of the inner beauty of atonement and unity. The Tibetan Master explains: "..the expression of the creative faculty is radiation and magnetism. These bring to its possessor the material for creation and the magnetic capacity which arranges in due form and beauty that which radiation has evoked. Creativity is a consequence of a particular state of mind and a specific state of being… … Love induces that radiation which invokes and evokes not only the heart of God but the heart of humanity also. Love is the cause of all creation and the sustaining factor in all living." And also: "Love brings all earthly karma to an end."

Behind the creation of all things, deeply embedded yet pervasive in its power is the central cause of each manifestation. This is the divine intention around which the pearl of each life forms. The life form of a human being carries its own will power to exercise as it comes to resonate with the divine intention. Thus divine purpose forms the blueprint on which man builds the temple that houses true being and the life that pervades all.

"Having pervaded the universe with a fragment of my self, I remain"
